Still I wear a self conscious laugh….”

These lines are still reverberating in my ears. I know that my words are not enough powerful to write about Nandhitha. Her serene soul thirsted for something that she had missed in her journey of life. She left the world because she never wanted to wear the mask. The lines in the poems were fresh and pure as it was not written for the public. The dreams, hopes and the feeling of loss melted into her pen and something still remains strange. She was adored by her parents her brother and the people around her but the intensity of love was beyond everything, that brutally taken away her mind. I was surprised by these poems and more by the poet. She might have been truthful to her life but she got married. Without doubt Nanditha and her poems will be remembered in the hearts of all those who values their lives.

Nanditha was born in 1969 May 12that Vayanadu district Kerala. She had been a teacher in Vayanadu Muttil Muslim Orphanage Arts and Science College. In 1999 January 17th she committed suicide.

I no longer believed in the idea of soul mates, or love at first sight. But I was beginning to believe that a very few times in your life, if you were lucky, you might meet someone who was exactly right for you. Not because he was perfect, or because you were, but because your combined flaws were arranged in a way that allowed two separate beings to hinge together.

I think you still love me, but we can’t escape the fact that I’m not enough for you. I knew this was going to happen. So I’m not blaming you for falling in love with another woman. I’m not angry, either. I should be, but I’m not. I just feel pain. A lot of pain. I thought I could imagine how much this would hurt, but I was wrong.

It hurts to let go. Sometimes it seems the harder you try to hold on to something or someone the more it wants to get away. You feel like some kind of criminal for having felt, for having wanted. For having wanted to be wanted. It confuses you, because you think that your feelings were wrong and it makes you feel so small because it's so hard to keep it inside when you let it out and it doesn't coma back. You're left so alone that you can't explain. Damn, there's nothing like that, is there? I've been there and you have too. You're nodding your head.

When we're incomplete, we're always searching for somebody to complete us. When, after a few years or a few months of a relationship, we find that we're still unfulfilled, we blame our partners and take up with somebody more promising. This can go on and on--series polygamy--until we admit that while a partner can add sweet dimensions to our lives, we, each of us, are responsible for our own fulfillment. Nobody else can provide it for us, and to believe otherwise is to delude ourselves dangerously and to program for eventual failure every relationship we enter.

Well, it seems to me that the best relationships - the ones that last - are frequently the ones that are rooted in friendship. You know, one day you look at the person and you see something more than you did the night before. Like a switch has been flicked somewhere. And the person who was just a friend is... suddenly the only person you can ever imagine yourself with.

I was suffering the easily foreseeable consequences. Addiction is the hallmark of every infatuation-based love story. It all begins when the object of your adoration bestows upon you a heady, hallucinogenic dose of something you never dared to admit you wanted-an emotional speedball, perhaps, of thunderous love and roiling excitement. Soon you start craving that intense attention, with a hungry obsession of any junkie. When the drug is witheld, you promptly turn sick, crazy, and depleted (not to mention resentful of the dealer who encouraged this addiction in the first place but now refuses to pony up the good stuff anymore-- despite the fact that you know he has it hidden somewhere, goddamn it, because he used to give it to you for free). Next stage finds you skinny and shaking in a corner, certain only that you would sell your soul or rob your neighbors just to have 'that thing' even one more time. Meanwhile, the object of your adoration has now become repulsed by you. He looks at you like you're someone he's never met before, much less someone he once loved with high passion. The irony is,you can hardly blame him. I mean, check yourself out. You're a pathetic mess,unrecognizable even to your own eyes. So that's it. You have now reached infatuation's final destination-- the complete and merciless devaluation of self.

We’re all seeking that special person who is right for us. But if you’ve been through enough relationships, you begin to suspect there’s no right person, just different flavors of wrong. Why is this? Because you yourself are wrong in some way, and you seek out partners who are wrong in some complementary way. But it takes a lot of living to grow fully into your own wrongness. And it isn’t until you finally run up against your deepest demons, your unsolvable problems—the ones that make you truly who you are—that we’re ready to find a lifelong mate. Only then do you finally know what you’re looking for. You’re looking for the wrong person. But not just any wrong person: the right wrong person—someone you lovingly gaze upon and think, “This is the problem I want to have.

വെറുതേ... എന്‍റെ കൊച്ചു കൊച്ചു ദുഖങ്ങള്‍ മറക്കാന്‍ ഞാന്‍ പലതും ചെയ്യുന്നു... ഒരു കോമാളിയെ പോലെ മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ ഇടയില്‍ കിടന്നു വിങ്ങലടക്കിയോതുക്കി ജീവിക്കുന്നു. എനിക്ക് ചുറ്റുമുള്ളവര്‍ പാവങ്ങള്‍ ആണ്. കഥയറിയാതെ ആട്ടം കാണുന്ന വിഡ്ഢികള്‍. ഒരു പക്ഷെ ഞാന്‍ അവരെയൊക്കെ സമര്‍ത്ഥമായി വഞ്ചിക്കുകയല്ലേ...? ആയിരിക്കാം ... എന്‍റെ ദുഖങ്ങള്‍ എന്നില്‍ തന്നെ ജീവിക്കണം. ജീവിതം ഒരു കാഴ്ച വസ്തുവാക്കരുത്. സന്തോഷമായാലും ദുഖമായാലും അതൊരു സ്വകാര്യതയാണ്‌. മറ്റുള്ളവര്‍ അതിലേക്ക് എതിനോക്കുന്നതും ആര്‍ക്കും ഇഷ്ടമാവില്ല...

11. പറയാനുള്ളത്...

ഒരു പക്ഷെ ഇതൊക്കെ പറയാന്‍ പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് എന്താണ്, "എന്റെ ജീവിതമാണ് എന്റെ സന്ദേശം" എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ പോലെ എന്റെ ജീവിതമാണ് എന്റെ "Character".

പറയാനുള്ളത് പറയുക, ചെയ്യാനുള്ളത്‌ ചെയ്യുക, ചെയ്ത കാണിക്കുക, അനുഭവിക്കാനുള്ളത് അനുഭവിക്കുക... ഇതൊക്കെ തന്നെയാണ് എനിക്കും നിങ്ങളോട് പറയാനുള്ളത്...

കാണേണ്ടത് നന്നായി കാണുക, അറിയേണ്ടത്‌ നന്നായി അറിയുക, വായിക്കേണ്ടത് വരികള്‍ക്കിടയിലൂടെ വായിക്കുക, മണതതരിയേണ്ടാത് മൂക്ക് കൊണ്ടുതന്നെ മണതരിയുക, കേള്‍ക്കേണ്ടത് സ്വന്തം ചെവിയിലൂടെ കേള്‍ക്കുകയും കേട്ടത്‌ മുഴുവന്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കാതെ കൊട്ടിഘോഷിക്കാതെ നല്ലൊരു കേള്‍വിക്കാരനായിരിക്കുക, നമ്മളരിയെണ്ടാത് നമ്മള്‍ മാത്രം അറിയുക, രഹസ്യം പരസ്യമാക്കാതിരിക്കുക, ആണ്‍ പെണ്ണാവാതെയും പെണ്ണ് ആണ്‍ ആവാതെയും ആണ്‍ ആണായി, പെണ്‍ പെണ്ണായി ജീവിക്കുക...

ഇതില്‍ നിയമലന്ഘനവും കോടതിയലക്ഷിയവുമില്ല. ഞാന്‍ ജനിച്ചു വളര്‍ന്ന വീട്, കണ്ടു മറഞ്ഞ ആളുകള്‍ അതില്‍ കുറെ ആളുകള്‍ ഇന്നു എവിടെയൊക്കെയോ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു...

അവര്‍ക്കൊക്കെ എന്നെക്കുരുച്ച് എന്തെങ്ങിലുമൊക്കെ പറയാന്‍ കാണും...

കോടിയുടെ നിറം നോക്കി പകപോക്കുന്ന കാലം ഇന്നും നിലനില്‍ക്കുന്നതിനു തെളിവാണ് ഞാന്‍...

എന്തിനും പാരപണിയുന്ന ചില "ലോക്കല്‍" കമ്മിറ്റികള്‍ എന്റെ വീടിന്റെ തൊട്ടടുത്ത്‌ തന്നെ കറങ്ങുന്നുണ്ട്, വെറും ലോക്കലായി...

10. ഇഷ്ടാനിഷ്ടങ്ങള്‍.

അജ്ഞാനം കൊണ്ട ജ്ഞാനത്തെയും ജ്ഞാനം കൊണ്ട സത്യത്തെയും ഞാന്‍ പഠിക്കുന്നു, പഠിച്ചു കൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കുന്നു...
ഞാന്‍ അറിഞ്ഞതും, അറിഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതും, വിചിത്രമാണ്. അറിയാനിരിക്കുന്നത് അതിലേറെ വിചിത്രമായിരിക്കാം...

5. ആണ്‍/ പുരുഷന്‍

ഈ മഹാപ്രപന്ചത്തില്‍ വിലക്കപ്പെട്ട കനി ഭക്ഷിച്ചവന്‍... സൃഷ്ടിക്ക്‌ കാരണഭൂതന്‍ ലൈംഗീകതയെ ആര്‍ത്തിയോടെ നുകര്‍ന്ന് ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നവന്‍... നെറികെട്ട സ്ത്രീത്വത്തിനു അടിമയാകുന്നവന്‍...!!

4. പെണ്ണ്/സ്ത്രീ

പൊന്ന്, പെണ്ണ്, പണം. ഇവ മൂന്നും മരണത്തെക്കാള്‍ ഭയക്കേണ്ട ഒന്നാണ്.

ഇത്രത്തോളം അടുത്തിടപഴകിയ ഒരു വര്‍ഗ്ഗം വേറെയില്ല. അറിഞ്ഞതും, അറിയുന്നതും, അറിയാനിരിക്കുന്നതും വളരെ വിചിത്രം...!!

ഒരു വലിയ അഗ്നിപര്‍വ്വതതെക്കാള്‍ ഭയനാകമാണ് ഒരു പെണ്ണിന്റെ മനസ്സ്‌. എല്ലാ വൃത്തികെട്ട വസ്തുക്കളും ദഹിപ്പിച്ച് അടക്കി നിര്‍ത്തി ഉഗ്രസ്പോടനം നടത്താന്‍ സാദ്യതയുള്ള കുടലകള്‍...

എഴുതുമ്പോള്‍ പോലും അറപ്പ് തോന്നുന്ന ഒരേ ഒരു വര്‍ഗ്ഗം. സ്വന്തം ശരീരത്തെ ഇത്രമാത്രം ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന മറ്റൊരു വര്‍ഗ്ഗവും ഈ ഭൂമിയില്‍ ഉണ്ടാവില്ല...!!

ഇതു വായിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ വനിതാ കമ്മീഷനും ഫെമിനിസ്റ്റുകളും സ്ത്രീവേദിയും ഉണര്‍ന്നേക്കാം... അവര്‍ക്കായി എന്റെ വാതിലുകള്‍ മലര്‍ക്കെ തുറന്നിടുന്നു...!!

3. ജ്ഞാനം.

വായിച്ചു തിര്‍ത്ത മഹാഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നു പോലും കിട്ടാത്ത ഒരു പാടു പാഠങ്ങള്‍ ഞാന്‍ പഠിച്ചു. എന്റെ ജീവിത യാത്രയില്‍ നിന്ന്. എനിക്കിപ്പോള്‍ ഞാന്‍ കാണുന്ന ഓരോ മുഖങ്ങളും ഓരോ പുസ്തകങ്ങളാണ്. പഠിക്കാന്‍ ഏറെയുള്ള അപൂര്‍വ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങള്‍ഞാനവയില്‍ നിന്ന് കണ്ടെടുക്കാരുണ്ട്. രസമാണിതെല്ലാം, ഒരു തരം വിറളി പിടിച്ച മനസ്സുമായി മരണത്തോട് മല്ലിടിക്കുന്നവന്റെ മുന്നില്‍ കിടന്നു നാദസ്വരം വായിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ കിട്ടുന്ന ആഹ്ലാതത്തിന്റെയും ആനന്തതിന്റെയും പരകോടിയില്‍ നില്‍ക്കുന്നവന്റെ ഒരു തരം നിര്‍വൃതി.
എങ്ങനെ ജീവിക്കണം എന്നത് എങ്ങനെ ജീവിച്ചു കാണിക്കണം എന്നതിനേക്കാള്‍ ബുദ്ടിമുട്ടാണ്. കാരണം ജീവിത സമരം സമ്ബവബഹുലമാണ്.
ജ്ഞാനതിലൂടെ ജീവിതത്തിലേക്ക് വെളിച്ചം വീശിയ രസകരമായ അനുഭവങ്ങള്‍...

1. വിശപ്പ്.

ജീവിതത്തില്‍ ഒരിക്കല്‍ പോലും വിശപ്പ്‌ എന്താണെന്ന് ഞാന്‍ അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല. ഒരിക്കല്‍... ഒരിക്കല്‍ മാത്രം ഞാനതറിഞ്ഞു. ഒരു പകലും ഒരു രാത്രിയും പോലീസ് സ്റ്റേഷന്റെ നാള് ചുവരുകള്‍ക്കുള്ളില്‍ ഇരുന്നും കിടന്നും നേരം വെളുപ്പിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ അറിഞ്ഞു വയറിന്റെ പോരിച്ചില്‍... ആ രാത്രിപകലും അറിഞ്ഞത് വിശപ്പ്‌ മാത്രമല്ല ഒട്ടേറെ സത്യങ്ങളായിരുന്നു, വിചിത്രമായ സത്യങ്ങള്‍... ആടിനെ കോഴിയാക്കുന്ന പോലീസുകാരുടെ ജാലവിദ്യ... ദാതിക്കുന്നവനെ മൂത്രം കുടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വെജിറ്റേരിയനെ നോണ്‍ വെജിറ്റേരിയനാക്കുന്ന , കുടിക്കാത്തവനെ കുടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന "നിയമപാലകര്‍".
